Joy Marie Douglas is Fashion Designer, Photographer, and Artist from Los Angeles, California. Joy earned her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at Parsons the New School for Design where she majored in Fashion Design. Joy also studied fashion design and photography at the University of the Arts London's , Central Saint Martins.
Joy often experiments with different mediums such as photography, film, printmaking, and illustration, which she works to incorporate into her fashion design practice. She often works with controversial themes by introducing political commentary and social justice within her design process. As a designer, Joy is always striving to push the limits on materials, fabrication, and experimentation while concentrating heavily on sustainable budget practices. The social, political, and environmental impacts of fashion are topics that Joy has focused heavily on within her personal research and design career.
